God Power

1 Samuel 17:36-37a "'I have done this to both lions and bears, and I'll do it to this pagan Philistine, too, for he has defiled the armies of the living God! The Lord who rescued me from the claws of the lion and the bear will rescue me from this Philistine!'"

When I read this verse it made me feel so empowered. David was up against a giant. Every other man was terrified to stand up against him. Goliath was huge. They looked like fleas compared to him, but what the other men viewed as a huge giant, David viewed as someone who messed with his God, and by his God's strength, David was going to show him never to mess with his God again! The man were seeing Goliath through fear, but David didn't have that fear because he saw Goliath through God's eyes. We, just like David, will be faced with giants in our life. We have the choice to run away in fear or face them head-on with God power!

Dear Lord,
You are my God! I am the child of the living God! Today there will be giants in my life, but I won't defeat them by sword or spear, but they will be defeated by You. It's Your battle! I surrender to You, and I go in Your strength today. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
