Genesis 45:8 "So it was God who sent me here, not you! And he is the one who made me an adviser to Pharaoh-the manager of his entire palace and the governor of all Egypt."
Joseph got it. He got that it wasn't his brother's schemes that landed him in Egypt. It was God's divine plan. God does allow us to have freedom of choice, but when that freedom causes us to hurt we often feel that our problems are too great to overcome. Truth is, though, that everything we face, good and bad, God already knows about before it happens. He allows it to happen, not because He doesn't love us, but because He can see the whole picture, not just the glimpse we see at the moment.
Dear Lord,
Thank You for reminding me that You haven't forgotten me, but rather, You're preparing me for something greater that the here and now. Help me, when things don't go my way, to remember how You worked in Joseph's life even though, in the world's eyes, he had been put through the ringer. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
