Exodus 4:11-12 "Then the Lord asked Moses, 'Who makes a person's mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go! I will instruct you in what to say.'"
Moses gave one excuse after another of why he was "unqualified" to do what God was calling him to do. "I'm too clumsy of a sqeaker." "What if they don't listen to me?" "What if they don't believe me when I say that You sent me?" "The people don't even listen to me. Why would Pharoah?" All these excuses angered God. They frustrate me, and I only read them for a few minutes. As frustrating as it is to see Moses's response, I can't be too hard on him because just thismorning I was like Moses. It wasn't exactly the same, but similar enough. Just as God promised to deliver the Israelites out of slavery, He promised me that He is sending my husband to me. "I don't even know a boy that would be a possibility right now, God." "I'm feeling the sting of rejection. how could someone love me if that boy didn't?" "I'm not who I should be." The list just goes on and on. Then God says, "Who made you: your mouth, eyes, ears? Was it not I? Now go! I will be with you on this journey." The number one thing God is speaking to me right now is, "It is not about you. It isn't about your inabilities. It isn't about the obstacles you face or see right now. It isn't about what could've happened but didn't. It's not about you; it's about Who I am! You're small; I'm big. You're insecure; I've overcome insecurity. You see no way, but I say 'Take a step of faith.' Stop trying to figure out how, and just know it's going to happen because I Am Who I Am."
Dear God,
I'm sorry! I'm sorry that I questioned You. I'm sorry that I doubted You. I'm sorry that I complained about the person You made me to be. I'm sorry that I've made this my life instead of making You my life. Please, forgive me. Thank You for being Who You Are! God, You're all powerful and all knowing. You've got this. Thank You for that. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
