Genesis 16:1 "Now Sarai, Abram's wife, had not been able to bear children for him. But she had an Egyptian servant named Hagar."
Sarai was feeling desperate. Getting older by the minute and still no child to fill her life. "I'm too old to have a child," she thought. "What way could this work?" Isn't that just what we do? God gives us a promise, and we try to figure out how He's going to do it. As the days go by and the promise begins to seem farther and farther away, we begin feeling desperate, and we try taking matters into our own hands. Our efforts end up landing us in a worse spot than before, though. Let's try today to keep trusting God even when we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel getting dimmer and dimmer.
Dear Lord,
So often I'm like Sarai-trying to take matters into my own hands as I see my hopes fading. Please, help me, instead, to trust You more and more, and give me the strength to hold onto Your promise to me even when I see no way of it happening. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

What a great encouraging post to just be faithful and have patience while waiting on the Lord!
