Joshua 7:13 "Get up! Command the people to purify themselves in preparation for tomorrow. For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel says: Hidden among you, O Israel, are things set apart for the Lord. You will never defeat your enemies until you remove these things from among you."
Achan stole some of the plunder that the people were commanded not to take . What he may have seen as a "small" sin was not small at all. It caused many people, including him and his family, to be killed. The sins in our lives are not small either. They are sin, and sin is sin. God talked to Joshua telling him how they would not defeat their enemies until those things were destroyed. You see, God brings victory, not us, and sin separates us from God. Jesus paid the price for us, though, through His death and resurrection, that we could have forgiveness and a relationship with our Maker. Until we are right with God, though, we're lost and powerless against our enemies, so we'll never defeat them, but with God on our side, not even the strongest army can beat our God.
Dear Lord,
Thank You for being on my side. Anything that is in-between You and me, please remove it, and forgive me. Wash me white as snow, and make em right with You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
