Misconception

Joshua 9:14 "So the Israelites examined their food, but they did not consult the Lord."

Gibeon sent ambassadors to Joshua to trick him into making a peace treaty with them. They said that they were from far away, this resulting in moldy bread. The Israelites looked at the moldy food to examine it. It looked like they were telling the truth, but they failed to consult God. This landed them in a place where they made an oath with the enemy. It is easy for us to make the same mistake that the leaders of Israel made. From the outside, things may add up, but without consulting God, we could have it all wrong.

Dear Lord,
Help me see through Your eyes. All I can see is the external, but You see the whole thing. I want to see through Your perspective. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
