Perspectives

March 26, 2011
1 Samuel 1:8 "'Why are you crying, Hannah?' Elkanah would ask. 'Why aren't you eating? Why be downhearted just because you have no children? You have me-isn't that better than having ten sons?'"

Just tonight I was in Hannah's shoes. Crying over what I didn't have. this verse stood out to me. It showed me how it's so easy to fall into crying over things we want but don't have. They're important, and God cares. If you read further in the chapter you will see how she cries out to God, and He gives her a son. When Hannah's husband responded like he did it made me think of how God would look at me and ask, "Why are you crying? Aren't I enough for you, Taylor?"

Dear God,
You are more than enough for me! Please, forgive me for treating You like You weren't. You're so good to me, and I could never deserve the love You show me. I'm sorry I lost my focus, and I pray You'll fix what I messed up. Thank You for Your forgiveness, and thank You for loving me unconditionally. Help me do better. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
