Ruth 1:22 "So Naomi returned from Moab, accompanied by her daughter-in-law Ruth, the young Moabite woman. They arrived in Bethlehem in late spring, at the beginning of the barley harvest."
The story of Ruth is a precious love story, but it has many struggles along the way. Naomi moves with her husband to a foreign land. Her sons get married. Naomi and her daughters-in-law lose their husbands. Naomi goes back to her people. Orpah leaves. Ruth stays. Ruth goes out to gather grain in a foreign land... new people, new God, no husband. It happens to be the beginning of the barley harvest. She meets Boaz who happens to be a kinsman redeemer. He notices her. The other kinsman redeemer turns down the offer because it could endanger his own estate. Boaz and Ruth get married. There are a lot of "coincidences," but is that really what they are? It happens to be the beginning of the barley harvest. Ruth happens to go to Boaz's field. Boaz happens to notice her, and he happens to be a kinsman redeemer. God has no coincidences. He has divine appointments. It was no coincidence to God that Boaz and Ruth would be together, and it is no coincidence that is happening in yours or my life either. God knows the story. He is the writer. Let's walk with Him, as Ruth did, and watch that story unfold.
Dear Lord,
There are "coincidences" that I think happen in my lie, but in all reality, they are Your divine appointments. Lord, please walk beside me as I watch Your plan unfold. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
