Black and White

March 25, 2011
Judges 21:25 "In those days Israel had no king; all the people did whatever seemed right in their own eyes."

Often times we don't like rules. Why must we wear seat-belts? Why do I have to go to bed at midnight? Why must I do chores? We don't always like it, and I see the rebelliousness of children rising. If you've ever tried playing a game where the rules were taught differently to the other person than they were to you, you'll see very quickly how difficult it gets. In Judges, the people did whatever seemed right in their own eyes. Today, one of the most popular responses from people is, "It may not be right for you, but it's right for me." No! Right and wrong don't change. When we don't have God's Word, though, we have no basis for what's right and wrong. Rules might not seem like fun, but trust me, without them it's total chaos!

Dear Lord,
Thank You for giving me rules and guidelines to live by. Help me obey You, and my parents, and let my life glorify You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
