1 Kings 18:21, "Then Elijah stood in front of them and said, 'How much longer will you waver, hobbling between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him! But if Baal is God then follow him@' But the people were completely silent."
The people and their leaders had fallen away from God. They began following other gods and forgot about the One True God. Elijah served the Lord, though. He told the people to stop wavering and choose who they were going to serve. We are faced with choices each day of who to serve also. We can serve God or ourselves. We can serve God or our worldly desires. We can serve God or,,, we can serve someone or something other than God. We need to make up our minds, get off the fence, and choose.
Dear Lord,
I'm going to be faced with many choices today, and I'm going to need to choose which paths to take. Lord, help me choose You! Show me the way and help me follow You. I choose Your side. Direct me, Father. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
